Caregiver Compensation - DC

The District of Columbia offers one way to get paid as a family caregiver.

1. Elderly and Individuals With Physical Disabilities Waiver (EPD): is designed to allow elderly and/or disabled individuals who would otherwise require care in a nursing facility to remain at home. Services offered under this program range from adult day care and respite programs to accessibility related home modifications. 

Program Requirements

• MUST be a resident of District of Columbia 

  • MUST be 65+, OR, 18+ and disabled

  • MUST require nursing facility level of care

  • MUST be Medicaid eligible

  • Spouses are not eligible
