Caregiver Compensation - Missouri

Ready Set Care

Missouri offers two ways to get paid as a family caregiver.

 

1. Consumer Directed State Plan Personal Care Program: enables elderly and/or disabled adults who require nursing facility level of assistance to receive care at home. This program pays friends and certain family members for providing personal care services.

 

Program Requirements

  • MUST be a resident of Missouri

    • MUST be 18+

    • MUST be physically disabled

    • MUST require nursing facility level of care

    • MUST be able to self-direct their own care

    • MUST be Medicaid eligible

    • Spouses are NOT eligible

2. Missouri Independent Living Waiver: is designed to help elderly and disabled adults receive care at home. This program allows and pays for care recipients to choose their caregivers. Other services include: environmental accessibility adaptations and case management. 

 

Program Requirements

  • MUST be a resident of Missouri 

    • MUST be age 18-64 and physically disabled

    • MUST require nursing facility level of care

    • MUST be able to self-direct their own care

    • MUST be Medicaid eligible

    • Spouses are NOT eligible
