Caregiver Compensation - Vermont

Ready Set Care

Vermont offers two ways to get paid as a family caregiver.

 

1. Attendant Services Program: enables disabled adults to receive care at home or in a community setting. This program allows family members to be hired and paid to provide care. 

 

Program Requirements

  • MUST be a resident of Vermont

    • MUST be at least 18 years of age

    • MUST be disabled

    • MUST be able to direct their own attendant care services

    • MUST be Medicaid eligible

    • Spouses are NOT eligible

2. Global Commitment to Health Waiver:  enables elderly and/or disabled adults who require nursing facility level of assistance to receive care at home. This program allows certain family members to be hired and paid to carry out personal care services. Program services may include: adult day and respite care and home modifications. 

 

Program Requirements

  • MUST be a Vermont resident

    • MUST require nursing facility level of care

    • MUST be Medicaid eligible

    • All caregivers eligible
